Sunday 4th Junes BBC Radio 4 'File on four' programme outlined details of Governments slow delivery of promised new computer systems costing Ipswich Hospital £700,000. This is a further £700,000 that will have to be found through service cuts and redundancies.

As Ipswich Liberal Democrats have stated before much of the problems at Ipswich Hospital are not of managements making but arise from Government decisions and incompetence. Andrew Cann said "This delay in delivery of promised IT systems is another example of where patient care in Ipswich is being harmed because of no fault at the Hospital. The Government must take responsibility for it's actions and stop the cuts at Ipswich Hospital".

"Ipswich Liberal Democrats believe that the Government should announce a moratorium on debt recovery at Ipswich Hospital whilst the funding formula for the Hospital is reviewed and the responsibility for the debts uncovered".
