Lib Dems form coalition in Ipswich4.53.50pm GMT Thu 17th May 2007 The Liberal Democrats have entered a coalition with the Conservatives to run Ipswich Borough Council for the coming year. The joint administration has committed to keeping council tax increases for Ipswich as close to inflation as is possible when the Labour government is tight fisted in providing the necessary funding for local government. The councillors of both groups are determined to carry on their drive for increased value for money for the tax payers & residents of Ipswich. The LibDem group has 3 portfolio places in the council's Executive:- · Richard ATKINS: Planning, Economic Development & Regeneration · Louise GOOCH: the Environment and Streetcare · Phil GREEN: Public Safety (Crime & Disorder)
