£50m boost to Ipswich Town Centre

8.14.37pm GMT Tue 29th May 2007

Ipswich Town Centre is due to get a £50m boost with the news that Ipswich Borough Council has sold the Civic Centre site to Turnstone Estates.

Turnstone want to transform the are into a 'retail, leisure and residential hub'.

Big name retailers are in discussions with Turnstone but for commercial reasons we are unable to name them at this stage.

This development will be a real boost for the Town Centre, for jobs, for customers and for the taxpayer as it has meant that the Borough has not had to fund the move to it's new headquarters in Russell Road.
