Ipswich £275m buffer against recession

As the bitter winds of recession start to bite Ipswich is better placed than many to weather the storm.

In Ipswich £275m of investment is being made in the town despite the slowdown. Here are a list of the projects (with some of the values):

Phase two of the University - £50m

Suffolk New College - £75m

The SWISS Sixth From Centre - £50m

Westgate Centre - £50m

Salthouse Harbour Hotel extension

New pedestrian bridge, Ranelagh Road

New Flood Gates - £50m

Reggatta Quay and Mill developments to complete

DanceEast to open in September '09
