Our PetitionSummary of AimGovernment to review urgently the new NHS Dental Contract Full Text of PetitionTo: Rt. Hon. Patricia Hewitt MP, Secretary of State for Health Research conducted by Liberal Democrats in Ipswich has revealed that the imposition of the new Dental Contract has led to an unprecedented number of local Dentists deciding not to take on NHS patients in favour of private patients. This cannot be blamed on the Dentists as they are disincentivised under the new contract to take on new NHS patients and they did not want the new contract. This has led to a situation where only 1 in 20 Dentists in Ipswich is taking on NHS patients. We, the undersigned, call on the Secretary of State for Health to urgently review the new Dental Contract and replace it with a contract that will provide for more NHS Dental Care in Ipswich.
